Join us for a special event showcasing final project presentations from students in Digital Humanities (SLV/SLC 304).

Our students have been exploring linguistic and cultural topics related to low-resource languages such as Serbian, Old Hebrew and Quechua, using cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Natural Language Processing (NLP) tools.

Student project highlights:

    Heroes, Folklore & Liberation: The Spirit of National Identity in 19th Century Serbian Romanticism
    A comparative exploration of Serbian Romantic literature through the works of Vuk Karadžić, Njegoš, Vojislav Ilić, and Jovan Sterija Popović, with a focus on themes of national identity, folklore, and political liberation.

    Teaching Biblical Hebrew by Letter Frequency: A Data-Driven Approach
    Which letters and vowels appear most frequently in the Hebrew Bible? How can these frequencies guide the development of a beginner-friendly decoding curriculum?
